About Us
Standing for Truth, Wonder, and Confidence in America’s Museums
At Americans for Museums, we believe that the cultural institutions shaping our children’s minds should reflect the full story of America—one grounded in academic freedom, transparency, and public accountability. We are a nonpartisan, citizen-led initiative dedicated to restoring balance, integrity, and excellence to the arts, humanities, and sciences.
Founded out of a conviction that museums are not neutral spaces, our mission is to empower parents, educators, and communities to engage critically with museum content and to advocate for policies that ensure museums serve all Americans—not just a narrow ideological narrative.
What We Do
-
Policy Reform & Advocacy
We work with lawmakers, thought leaders, and cultural experts to introduce and support legislation that protects viewpoint diversity and challenges institutional bias within federally funded museums.
-
Public Education & Awareness
Through tours, media, and curriculum resources, we help families and educators navigate museum exhibits with discernment—equipping the next generation to see through the glass and think biblically and critically about what they encounter.
-
Museum Audits & Reports
We’ve conducted a comprehensive review of every major natural history museum in the United States. Our findings reveal systemic issues in how origins, history, and human value are presented—and we are leading the national conversation to address them.
-
Coalition-Building
From state capitols to homeschool networks, we are mobilizing a diverse movement of Americans who care deeply about truth in public education and cultural storytelling. Our civic engagement tools, expert panels, and grassroots initiatives unite citizens around a shared purpose.
Why It Matters
Museums are trusted more than most institutions in America. What they teach—implicitly or explicitly—matters. When they promote only one worldview or erase certain perspectives, they not only betray the public trust—they harm the intellectual and spiritual development of millions of children.
We are here to change that.
