WASHINGTON, D.C. — A national team of advocates has launched an initiative to address growing concerns regarding transparency, academic freedom, and the handling of historical and scientific evidence at the Smithsonian Institution.
The effort calls for greater public accountability from one of the nation’s most influential educational and cultural institutions, citing the need for unbiased, accurate, and publicly accessible information.
“This isn’t just about one museum — it’s about whether our public institutions are committed to truth and transparency,” said Steven Policastro, Director of International Association for Creation, where he and his team are dedicated to creating opportunity for all. “We’re calling for open discourse, academic integrity, and protection of the public’s right to access a complete and honest record of our world and history.”
Advocates say momentum is growing, with developments underway at the White House and on Capitol Hill that could lead to meaningful reforms and oversight.
The coalition is inviting educators, parents, and concerned citizens to join the effort to protect free inquiry, historical accuracy, and scientific integrity in America’s institutions.
